While this is an awesome opportunity to see the rare occurrence of Jackie Chan and Jet Lee together in the first movie ever, the plot and content of the movie is rather childlike, with a tinge of Karate Kid on super roids. This is a movie that is great to take your kid to, and the fight scenes will not disappoint you.

Beautiful scenery and fantastic choreography. Although the story was a compilation of several old story lines he change of scenery and the addition of Jet Li and Jackie Chan really made the movie work. It was the first time that I have seen Jet Li really Laugh. Both are fantastic in the fight scenes together as well as against the bad guys. It was also great to see that there was a happy ending and a good love interest. It was a movie that I thoroughly enjoyed and I have now seen it twice once by myself and once with my daughter (12) and her friend (also 12). It is a movie that I would enjoy seeing again and again because of the fun factor and the humor throughout. Jackie Chan and Jet Li should do more movies together. They have great chemistry as well as fantastic Martial Arts skills that make watching them good clean fun. This is a movie that I think can be enjoyed by all ages.

It's about time Hollywood gave us an authentic Martial Arts film. As much as I love Jackie Chan and Jet Li, I've never been 100% satisfied with their American flicks. I prefer New Police Story, Fearless, The Legend Of Drunken Master, The Warlords and other back home productions over hit and miss efforts like Shanghai Noon/Knights, Cradle To The Grave and The Rush Hour Series. I went to see The Forbidden Kingdom out of respect for two of my favorite stars and was pleasantly surprised. Not only do we get Jet and Jackie together but it's also a tribute with nods to countless Hong Kong classics. If you grew up on Shaw Bros. and Golden Harvest, this is the movie for you. Michael Angarano didn't even irritate me that much thanks to several outstanding Woo Ping choreographed fight scenes. The duel between the co-stars is beyond awesome and makes up for the brief skirmish in last year's War with Jet and Jason Statham. GUYS!!! Do yourselves a favor and see this movie ASAP. It truly rocks.
